Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida

Building girls of courage, confidence, and character

At Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida I worked towards our mission by focusing on collaboration, team-work, and creativity. I have been able to explore every aspect of non-profit marketing and communications and thrive working on new projects. From social media, PR, and video creation to event photography, website management, and communications – every project or program I have taken on has helped round me out as a marketing professional and prove my flexibility, creativity, and perseverance. Below is a small glimpse into my work over the last five years.

Social Media Strategy

Analytics and Strategy

Engagement reigns supreme in social media. Here is an example of an analytics deck I created and complete quarterly to keep my team informed and looking forward. I also created a 15-page social media strategy guide that is updated annually with data mined from these reports.

Multi-platform management

Content creation and copy unique to each platform is key when it comes to reaching the right audiences. Manipulating text for a single post across many platforms keeps my work efficient and fresh for the viewer. The use of scheduling services allows me to post at our most engaged times.

Exploration of trends

Technology and generations are constantly changing and as a marketer it is so important to keep my finger on the pulse of new trends while keeping business objectives in mind. Here is an example of a Tik Tok style video I created that garnered over 20,000 views and brought attention to our upcoming Cookie Program.

Website Management and Migration

Previous Website

Here is a brief walk through of the previous gssef.org website used through the Summer of 2023. My website management includes regular updates, page creations, Google analytics, and annual web audits with all departments.

New Website

In 2023 I was tasked with the migration of our website to a more mobile-friendly and modern template in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM). Working with our national office, I built timelines and completed asset review, created over 40 new pages, and managed the marketing team through the process. This 6-month overhaul was completed in July 2023.

Communications and Editing

Flyers and Event Assets

Working as the liaison between the programs team and our graphic designer, I provide all the copy and editing for all materials produced for the programs and events I manage. Here are a few examples of program flyers that I provided content and direction for.

E-Newsletters and Marketing Emails

Using Salesforce Marketing Cloud I create our council’s two monthly e-newsletters: S’more Fun Programs and Linking Leaders (example issue shown above). I manage submissions from all departments, edit, build, and schedule these through Journey Builder. I also create targeted marketing emails for our programs and announcements.

Blog Writing and Management

Over my years working at GSSEF I have grown our blog and post regular content that aligns with our mission. I first started creating blogs from scratch, and have since moved to a platform for ‘guest speakers’ comprised of our membership, sponsors, and staff.

Video Editing and Content Creation

Florida History Virtual Tours

In 2022 I adventured across Florida with our program lead to film GSSEF’s Florida History tours. Three of the videos on the playlist were 100% filmed and edited on imovie by myself (Tallahassee, St. Augustine, and Key West), while the other videos were a collaboration – with content provided to me by my colleagues. Watch the whole playlist on YouTube. This is just one of the many virtual programs I have put together since 2020.

Event Videos for Social Media

During the programs I attend as our council photographer and social media specialist, I make sure to record video to use for additional content. Here is an example of a Facebook video I created for Art Fest 2021 through Canva.
